Position Overview:

Asphalt Foreman

Position Overview:

The Asphalt Foreman is responsible for overseeing asphalt laborers and equipment operators in their daily activities regarding asphalt work.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring safe, profitable, and efficient operations on all assigned projects
  • Consult sitemaps, blueprints, and other plans to ensure asphalt is accurately placed and installed
  • Observe work progress and provide guidance to the crew
  • Create schedules for the asphalt crew
  • Estimate and report the cost of materials and labor time required for each project
  • Operating heavy machinery such as Rollers, Pavers, and/or other related equipment

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with asphalt work
  • Knowledge of the Asphalt industry and related safety practices
  • Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment
  • High attention to detail tasks, recording, execution and follow-up

Position Overview:

The Haul Truck Driver is responsible for providing safe transportation of construction material and equipment to multiple sites across the Chicagoland area.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring safe transportation and loading/unloading of material and equipment
  • Conducting and documenting safety inspections of equipment/machinery
  • Operating the vehicle in compliance with company rules and local, state, and federal laws

Qualifications:

  • Having a Class A CDL license is a must
  • At least 2-3 years of Class A driving experience
  • Experience operating heavy equipment/machinery

Position Overview:

An Asphalt Laborer assists with laying, maintaining, and repairing asphalt.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare areas for asphalt paving and resurfacing using machinery/equipment provided by the company
  • Load and unload trucks with tools, equipment, and other material necessary for the project
  • Act as a flagman for traffic control at the work site
  • Report to Asphalt Foreman and Operations Superintendent

Position Overview:

A Lute Person assists with pouring, smoothing, and setting asphalt. They are essential to leveling the asphalt.

Responsibilities:

  • Distribute asphalt by raking
  • Matching and finishing fresh asphalt to the proper grade and thickness
  • Correcting any surface irregularities and restoring asphalt surface
  • Work alongside the Paver, Roller, and Screed/Screw Operators
  • Report to the Asphalt Foreman and Operations Superintendent

Position Overview:

The Paver Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of an Asphalt Paver. 

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the paver and other heavy equipment in a safe and skillful  manner
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of machinery/equipment
  • Observe the distribution of asphalt along the screed 
  • Line paver appropriately to work area and ensure proper application of asphalt
  • Maintain sense of awareness to the surrounding area of the machine, making sure there are no obstructions
  • Report to Asphalt Foreman and Field Superintendent

  • Experience working with asphalt
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy loads of up to 50 pounds

Position Overview:

The Roller Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Rollers.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the paver and other heavy equipment in a safe and skillful  manner
  • Drive machine in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling asphalt and subgrade to desired compaction and smoothness
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of machinery/equipment
  • Have a thorough understanding of material thickness, type of material being laid, and material temperature for determining rolling range
  • Maintain sense of awareness to the surrounding area of the machine, making sure there are no obstructions
  • Understand proper techniques for rolling transverse joints
  • Report to Asphalt Foreman and Field Superintendent

Position Overview:

A Seal Coater operates a variety of handheld and heavy machinery/equipment to properly seal coat and crack fill asphalt surfaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Application of seal coating material
  • Operate any machinery and other heavy equipment in a safe and skillful manner
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of machinery/equipment
  • Clean and prep surfaces for crack filling and sealcoating
  • Assist construction/paving crew with various duties such as shoveling and raking, running wheelbarrow, safely backing/dumping trucks into paver, and more
  • Report to Asphalt Foreman and Field Superintendent

Position Overview:

The Screed/Screw Operator is responsible for running a screed, the equipment responsible for leveling asphalt when creating new pavement.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the screed and other heavy equipment in a safe and skillful manner
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of machinery/equipment
  • Operate asphalt screed to apply asphalt per plan and quality specifications as instructed by Asphalt Foreman to ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintain sense of awareness to the surrounding area of the machine, making sure there are no obstructions
  • Report to Asphalt Foreman and Field Superintendent

Position Overview:

The Striper is involved with striping and pavement marking on asphalt surfaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the painting of various pavement marking surfaces
  • Mark out various traffic lanes, parking stalls, ADA spots, fire lanes, and more
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of machinery/equipment
  • Clean and prepare pavement for paint, epoxy, tape, or thermoplastic
  • Effectively work with all varieties of striping equipment
  • Maintain sense of awareness to the surrounding area of the machine, making sure there are no obstructions

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 4-5 years of experience striping/pavement marking

Concrete Foreman

Position Overview:

The Concrete Foreman is responsible for overseeing Concrete Laborers in their daily activities regarding concrete projects.

A Concrete Finisher/Framer is responsible for smoothing and finishing freshly poured concrete, applying surface treatments, and maintaining/restoring various masonry structures.

Responsibilities:

  • Levelling the top surface of freshly poured concrete on walkways, platforms, and other structures
  • Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete
  • Waterproofing, damp-proofing and restoring concrete surfaces
  • Operate heavy machinery and other equipment in a safe and skillful  manner

Diesel Mechanic

Responsibilities:

  • At least 5 years of experience
  • Basic set of tools
  • Repair trucks, trailers, and related equipment in a timely and efficient manner

  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper working condition

Position Overview:
